Role overview
The Maintenance Supervisor in Engineering & Facilities is responsible for keeping hotel tools, appliances, equipment, and critical safety systems in dependable working order. This role supports preventative maintenance, guest repair requests, inventory control, and day-to-day facility upkeep at the Doha conference centre location.
Key responsibilities
You will inspect, maintain, calibrate, and repair a wide range of equipment, while also helping coordinate the team that keeps the property running smoothly. The position includes attention to life-safety systems, guest service, logging work activities, and supporting operational efficiency.
- Carry out installation, upkeep, preventative maintenance, and replacement recommendations for tools, appliances, and equipment.
- Adjust and calibrate controls, gauges, meters, and related systems.
- Locate and operate shut-off valves as required.
- Manage stock by ordering, marking, and storing parts and supplies.
- Maintain inventory records and purchase order logs.
- Inspect tools, machinery, and equipment for proper working condition.
- Use computers to record and retrieve job-related information.
- Operate power lift equipment when needed.
- Complete life-safety checks, including fire-pump and generator run tests.
- Inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
- Support the creation of disaster response procedures.
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance and repair needs.
- Help management with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, coaching, evaluation, counseling, discipline, and employee motivation.
- Follow company, safety, and security procedures and report hazards, accidents, injuries, and maintenance issues.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance and protect confidential information.
- Provide courteous service to guests, including guests with disabilities.
- Build positive working relationships and collaborate toward shared goals.
- Contribute ideas that improve efficiency, quality, safety, productivity, and cost control.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and others.
- Perform physical duties such as reaching, bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and moving objects up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and move on stairs or service ramps as needed.
- Complete other duties assigned by supervisors.
Preferred qualifications
The preferred background includes technical, trade, or vocational school training, at least 2 years of related experience, and at least 2 years of supervisory experience. No license or certification is required.
