Web Developer / Frontend Developer

Role overview

ScaleTech is looking for a web-focused developer who wants more than a ticket queue and is excited to shape a key area of the business from the ground up. You will work on modern, fast websites and funnel experiences using a contemporary Next.js stack, take ownership of your projects, and help elevate the web and conversion side of the company.

The role is based in Bruchköbel and combines on-site collaboration with a hybrid setup. You will work closely with the founding team, contribute directly to client-facing work, and help define how the web and funnel function develops going forward.

What you will do

• Build conversion-focused websites and landing pages with Next.js App Router, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS v4.
• Set up Sanity as a headless CMS so clients can manage their own content independently.
• Handle deployments through Vercel, including domains, DNS configuration, and environment setup.
• Integrate tracking cleanly, including Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, events, and conversions.
• Implement conversion funnels and multi-step landing page variants.
• Connect forms and automations, for example through n8n webhooks.
• Carry out visual and technical QA, while improving Core Web Vitals and overall performance.
• Maintain, extend, and improve existing client websites.
• Help shape future Shopify theme work and contribute to shop projects, including Liquid customization.
• Work closely with the founders and join in-person client meetings when needed.

What you should bring

You should have a completed degree in computer science, media informatics, business informatics, web engineering, software engineering, or a similar field, or alternatively a strong relevant vocational background.

Ideally, you already have around 1 to 3 years of professional experience in web development, preferably from an agency or product team environment.

A live portfolio with real URLs is required and matters more than certificates.

Strong hands-on knowledge of React, Next.js, HTML, CSS, Tailwind, and Git is important, along with an understanding of how frontend, backend, and CMS layers work together.

Experience with a headless CMS, ideally Sanity, and familiarity with deployment and hosting, ideally Vercel, will help you succeed in this role.

You should have a sharp eye for design and detail, enjoy building polished interfaces, and think in a data-driven way about what actually converts.

Very strong German skills at native-speaker level and good English are required for documentation, tools, and technical terminology.

You should also be comfortable using modern AI-assisted tools such as Claude Code, while still understanding the code and technical decisions behind what you deliver.

• Experience with Shopify and Liquid.
• Basic knowledge of SEO, both technical and content-related.
• Experience with n8n or similar automation tools.
• Exposure to tracking, GTM, and conversion optimization.
