Category Manager

Role overview

An opportunity is open for a seasoned Category Manager to own category direction and support growth in sales, profit, and market share. This position focuses on shaping assortment decisions, pricing actions, promotional planning, supplier relationships, stock efficiency, and overall commercial results while partnering closely with internal teams to achieve business goals.

What the role involves

• Define and execute category plans that strengthen sales performance, profitability, and market expansion.
• Plan product assortments based on business needs, customer demand, and category goals.
• Develop pricing approaches and promotional activities that support commercial targets.
• Handle supplier coordination and negotiations to improve terms and business outcomes.
• Optimize inventory levels to balance availability, turnover, and efficiency.
• Monitor category performance and contribute to broader commercial decision-making.
• Work with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver agreed objectives.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Between 4 and 6 years of relevant experience in Category Management, preferably in Retail or FMCG.
• Solid hands-on experience in category strategy, pricing, promotions, stock management, and supplier negotiation.
• Strong analytical ability, commercial awareness, and communication skills.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and business intelligence tools.
• Exposure to ERP platforms, JDA, or forecasting tools will be considered an advantage.
• Prior experience handling the Electronics category in a retail or e-commerce setting is mandatory.
