Role overview
SIHT is seeking an enthusiastic Coding & Robotics Facilitator to provide practical STEM learning for primary and junior high school students in partner schools across Ghana’s Eastern Region. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technology and has a strong interest in mentoring young learners.
What you will do
- Deliver coding and robotics lessons to learners from P1 through JHS3 using tools such as Scratch, micro:bit, LEGO WeDo, and Arduino.
- Prepare and run interactive, project-based teaching sessions.
- Guide students in building enjoyable, real-world coding and robotics projects.
- Monitor class attendance, evaluate student progress, and provide additional support to learners who need help.
- Prepare and share regular updates on sessions and student performance.
Requirements
- Practical, hands-on experience in both coding and robotics is mandatory.
- You must be able to teach and troubleshoot at least one coding platform, such as Scratch, JavaScript, or Python, along with one robotics platform such as micro:bit, Arduino, or LEGO WeDo.
- Good communication skills and the patience to work effectively with children are essential.
- You should already be based in, or be willing to work within, Suhum, Koforidua, and nearby areas in the Eastern Region.
- A personal laptop is required.
Nice to have
Previous experience teaching STEM subjects or facilitating learning for children will be an advantage.
Compensation
The salary is competitive and will depend on your experience and proven ability. Strong applicants can expect to be compensated accordingly.
