Role overview
12 CUPS is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Coffee Roaster to support its specialty coffee operations in Riyadh. The role focuses on producing consistently high-quality roasted coffee, maintaining equipment, and contributing to product and quality improvements across the coffee team.
Key responsibilities
- Run and observe roasting machinery to keep output consistent and production efficient.
- Develop, adjust, and fine-tune roast profiles to reach the intended flavour notes.
- Assess both green and roasted coffee through cupping and sensory evaluation.
- Keep precise roasting logs and production documentation.
- Track green coffee stock and coordinate inventory needs with the appropriate teams.
- Maintain cleanliness, upkeep, and correct functioning of roasting equipment.
- Follow food safety, quality assurance, and workplace safety requirements.
- Work with the coffee team on new product development and ongoing quality enhancement.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have prior coffee roasting experience, ideally in specialty coffee. A solid grasp of roasting fundamentals and green coffee assessment is important, along with the ability to operate commercial roasting equipment. Strong sensory judgment, cupping capability, a careful eye for detail, and a strong quality focus are essential.
