Role overview
VeSync is looking for a seasoned Content Editor to own, improve, and safeguard content quality across three internal brands. The position centers on polishing high-visibility print and digital materials for accuracy, consistency, clarity, and brand alignment. You will work closely with marketing, technical writing, legal, design, and global content teams to ensure messaging is cohesive across every customer touchpoint.
Beyond editing, this role includes strategic input on editorial quality, style standards, and content workflows. You will be expected to manage demanding, fast-moving projects while maintaining an exceptional level of precision and judgement.
Key responsibilities
- Review, edit, proofread, and sometimes draft content in line with brand voice, UX principles, and platform requirements across product listings, packaging, manuals, blog posts, email campaigns, scripts, social content, and related assets.
- Perform final pass reviews at campaign level to confirm messaging is aligned, tone is consistent, and all deliverables meet quality expectations.
- Maintain a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced setting so both print and digital content remain polished and easy to use.
- Track changes in industry trends, editing standards, and publishing practices, then share insights with the team and recommend workflow improvements.
- Rewrite and restructure marketing and selected technical material to strengthen clarity, readability, flow, and usefulness without changing the intended message or tone.
- Apply and protect brand voice, editorial rules, copyright standards, and ethical guidelines across published work.
- Serve as the final decision-maker on editing matters to preserve continuity and quality in output.
- Update and refine internal style guides, perform competitor research, and communicate findings that can raise editorial standards.
- Lead editing approach and execution for packaging, marketing, retail, and product copy so content stays consistent and aligned with market expectations.
- Provide constructive editorial feedback and work with marketing and technical copywriters to ensure best practices are followed.
- Act as the subject matter expert for marketing content, including formatting, wording, SEO, and style guide use.
- Handle complex, high-visibility content while keeping accuracy, consistency, and competitiveness intact.
- Coordinate with China-based writers, U.S. content teams, and project managers to keep language and assets aligned globally.
- Review third-party microcopy and revise it to fit brand and usability standards.
- Partner with Legal and Marketing to verify claims, maintain compliance, and use trademarks correctly.
- Standardize marketing language and phrasing across brand platforms wherever needed.
- Support go-to-market campaigns as the editorial lead, ensuring all pieces carry the same message.
- Collaborate with creative partners on campaign ideas and brand storytelling efforts.
- Bring a solid understanding of marketing strategy, audience targeting, and digital content needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a closely related discipline.
- 5 to 8 years of professional editing experience.
- Prior experience specifically as a Content Editor.
- 2 to 6 years of experience in digital marketing or marketing preferred.
- Experience working with packaging content and PDP collateral is required.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, PageProof or a similar review tool, and Frame.io or another video review platform.
- Adobe Suite experience is preferred.
- Excellent command of English grammar, sentence structure, and editorial standards.
- Strong working knowledge of AP Stylebook, Chicago Manual of Style, and related style references.
- Outstanding editing, writing, and proofreading ability with very strong attention to detail.
- Ability to keep quality high while managing deadlines and changing priorities.
- Experience collaborating across Marketing, Legal, Product, UX, and international teams.
- Clear, respectful, and effective communication skills, especially when giving feedback.
- Ability to present best practices, champion editorial consistency, and contribute as a subject matter expert in meetings.
- Strong understanding of marketing strategy, audience segments, SEO, user experience, and brand messaging.
