Position Summary

The Data Analyst role focuses on turning data into practical insights that help shape City policies and improve day-to-day operations. Position Duties

  • Collects, cleans, prepares, and analyzes data for City departments.
  • Designs data-processing models and uses AI tools to help solve business problems for internal clients and initiatives.
  • Communicates findings through data visualizations.
  • Creates data products in Microsoft Power Platform, contributes to the Power Platform Center of Excellence, and helps automate workflows.
  • Builds and supports AI tools and related initiatives.
  • Conducts geospatial analysis for dashboards and visual reporting.
  • Reviews analytical work and performs quality assurance for Innovation & Performance.
  • Creates cloud-based pipelines from workflow automations.
  • Works closely with Process Improvement, Data Engineering, Infrastructure, Applications, and other stakeholders to support analytics projects across the City.
  • Researches new technologies and helps bring useful practices into City work.
  • Finds opportunities to improve processes and work methods.
  • Serves as a liaison and City representative with community groups involved in analytics and policy development.
  • Develops style standards for analytic presentations and visual outputs.
  • Applies procedures that support data privacy and governance.
  • Helps shape AI strategy and governance policies aligned with City values and current technology trends.
  • Partners with Operations Performance Analysts in City departments.
