Role overview
A client in Plano, Texas is looking for a skilled Data Analyst with strong command of Power BI and SQL. In this hybrid contract position, you will help turn raw data into practical insights that guide business decisions and support important initiatives. You will work with different teams, stakeholders, and leadership to make sure reporting, analysis, and data outputs are useful, accurate, and aligned with business goals.
Key responsibilities
- Own analysis work for assigned projects and deliver timely, accurate, and actionable insights.
- Partner with business stakeholders and project teams to understand data needs, define metrics, and convert requirements into analytical solutions.
- Build, update, and support dashboards and reports mainly in Power BI and Tableau so that information is easy to read and use.
- Create, refine, and maintain advanced SQL queries to pull, transform, and analyze data from multiple database sources.
- Check data outputs for accuracy, consistency, and reliability through validation steps and regular quality reviews.
- Look for ways to improve reporting workflows, automate repetitive work, and strengthen data quality.
- Explain technical findings and business insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support business growth by offering data-backed recommendations, assisting with strategy, and spotting market patterns.
- Keep complete documentation for data sources, methods, and reporting workflows.
Education and experience
A bachelor’s degree in any field is required. A degree in a quantitative area such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline is preferred. The role calls for at least 3 years of practical experience in data analysis within a business setting. Experience as a contractor or in a part-time data-related role is an added advantage. The ideal candidate should have a proven ability to deliver insights that help stakeholders make decisions.
Technical and soft skills
You should be highly proficient in Power BI and Tableau, comfortable writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, and familiar with other tools such as Python or R. Exposure to data modeling and ETL concepts will be helpful, as will experience working with large datasets and different database platforms. Strong communication, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills are essential.

This position is based in Plano, Texas and follows a hybrid working arrangement. The role is a contract position.
