Role overview
This opportunity is for a Data Scientist position based in Washington, DC, hired on behalf of a Haystack partner. The role focuses on turning complex datasets into practical insights and decision support through a mix of analysis, engineering, and modeling work.
What you will do
- Explore, clean, analyze, visualize, and mine data to uncover useful patterns and insights.
- Build and implement algorithms and data systems for advanced analysis.
- Develop ETL workflows, work with APIs, and prepare data for reliable storage and use.
- Create automated analytical tools, methods, and software to support recurring analysis.
- Convert complex datasets into clear, actionable intelligence that supports decisions.
- Collaborate with clients to understand requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
What you need
- Hands-on background in data exploration, cleansing, analysis, visualization, data science, or data mining.
- Strong coding ability in data-focused languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
- Experience building ETL pipelines, including API access and data preparation.
- Working knowledge of version control systems such as Git, GitLab, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
- Understanding of statistics, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques.
- Ability to design automated analytical software and algorithms.
- A bachelor's degree is required.
- Active TS/SCI clearance is mandatory.
