Role overview
Camphill Communities of Ireland is hiring a House Coordinator for its Jerpoint community in Thomastown, County Kilkenny. The organisation supports people with physical and intellectual disabilities as well as autistic people through residential and day services across 15 locations, with the aim of helping residents and day attendees live as independently and ordinarily as possible.

What the role involves
The House Coordinator will be part of a committed team and will contribute to the coordination, leadership and day-to-day support of a social care environment. The position requires the ability to guide staff, maintain quality of care, and ensure safe, compliant support for vulnerable adults.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coordinate, direct and assign work across the team.
- Provide reliable, high-quality support to vulnerable adults.
- Work within current disability-service policies and sector developments.
- Ensure practice aligns with HIQA regulations and standards.
- Support safeguarding practices, including Trust in Care and Children First requirements.
- Use relevant IT tools and office systems as part of the role.
- Contribute to a collaborative and learning-focused work environment.
Requirements
- A minimum Level 7 qualification on the QQI Framework, such as a BA in Social Care Studies or an equivalent health/social care qualification.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a similar social care setting.
- 3 years' experience working with vulnerable adults or adults with intellectual disabilities.
- Good understanding of national and sectoral policy developments in disability-related social care.
- Strong knowledge of HIQA regulations and standards.
- Solid awareness of safeguarding obligations, including Trust in Care and Children First.
- Proven ability to lead, coordinate and delegate effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Competence with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams.
- A full driving licence is required.
- Appointment is subject to Garda Vetting, police clearance for any country lived in for more than 6 months since age 18, and reference checks.
