About the role
JIGPC is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for its Maintenance team in Jazan. The position focuses on strengthening the reliability, performance, and availability of important mechanical equipment in a large gasification and power generation complex. In this role, you will handle complex troubleshooting, support reliability upgrades, assist with major maintenance work and plant shutdowns, and help drive safe, efficient operations across the facility.
Key responsibilities
- Take the lead in diagnosing, repairing, and improving mechanical systems across the Gasification unit, Power Block, Utilities, and Air Separation Unit (ASU).
- Create and put into practice preventive and predictive maintenance plans that raise equipment reliability and help minimize unplanned stoppages.
- Carry out root cause investigations for mechanical breakdowns and recommend practical corrective measures.
- Prepare for and execute major maintenance campaigns, equipment overhauls, upgrades, and turnaround/shutdown work.
- Review asset performance trends and use reliability methodologies to uncover improvement opportunities.
- Make sure all work aligns with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Help introduce modern reliability tools such as predictive maintenance systems, digital platforms, and advanced diagnostic methods.
- Guide and support junior engineers while contributing to a mindset of ongoing improvement and technical excellence.
Qualifications and experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
Applicants should bring at least 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance engineering in heavy industrial settings such as power generation, gasification, petrochemicals, refineries, oil & gas, or similar environments.
Hands-on exposure to major maintenance projects and turnaround/shutdown activities is also required.
Preferred background includes a Master’s degree in Engineering Management or Maintenance Engineering, along with certifications such as CMRP, CRL, PMP, OSHA, or NEBOSH.
