Role summary

Fruitways is seeking an organised, proactive Planner to join its Commercial Department. The successful candidate will work closely with commercial, production, and quality functions to translate market needs into short- and medium-range demand plans. This position is based in Somerset West and reports to the Planning Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Build and update a rolling demand plan using input from sales, quality, and production teams.
• Create and coordinate packing instructions so stock is replenished on time and remains available for the sales team.
• Track shifts in market demand and product supply, then align both to improve sales opportunities across different markets.
• Work directly with production sites to revise and implement packing instructions as market conditions change.
• Observe market and industry developments and turn those observations into useful commercial insights and recommendations.

Requirements

• A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Logistics, or a closely related field.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in the fruit sector.
• Strong people skills and the ability to collaborate across different organisational levels.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Good analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Solid working knowledge of Excel.
