Production Helper

Role overview

Les Aliments Chicoine is hiring a Production Helper to support day-to-day activities in a food and beverage manufacturing setting. The role is based in Granby, Quebec and must be performed at the workplace; remote work is not available.

Language requirement

French is required for this position.

Education

No diploma, certificate, or degree is needed.

Experience

Candidates should have 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience.

Work environment

This job is carried out on site in a cold or refrigerated environment, within a food and beverage plant and a meat processing and/or packing facility.

Core duties

• Apply food safety and handling practices while working on the production line.
• Move raw materials, finished goods, and packaging supplies as needed.
• Measure ingredients and pour them into hoppers for mixing and grinding equipment.
• Load flattened boxes into forming machines to create containers.
• Take packed containers off conveyors.
• Pack products by hand into bags, boxes, or other packaging.
• Load and unload processing machinery.
• Inspect products and packaging for basic quality issues.
• Support process control staff and machine operators in their daily tasks.
• Clean production equipment and nearby work areas.

Work conditions and physical demands

• The position involves repetitive tasks and requires strong manual dexterity.
• Standing for long periods is part of the job.
• Attention to detail is important.
• Employees must be comfortable bending, crouching, and kneeling.
• The work pace is fast.
• Heavy lifting is required, and the role is physically demanding.

Weight handling

• Items up to 23 kg (50 lbs) may need to be handled.
• Some tasks may involve lifting more than 45 kg (100 lbs).
