Its mission is not just to add features, but to help define how people collaborate in the AI era and to reduce repetitive work so customers can focus more time on important work.
About the role
This internship is part of the company’s first engineering intern cohort. The team is looking for someone who can help build a reliable, high-performance path for the product’s future, with a strong focus on AI-native projects that create real value for customers and internal engineers.
The internship runs for 12 weeks, from September 14 to December 4, and the selected candidate must be able to work from the San Francisco office throughout that period.
What you will do
- Produce code that is clean, well-tested, secure, and properly documented.
- Improve the product by adding new capabilities with an AI-first approach.
- Build, debug, and maintain software across the full stack, including web services, databases, applications, and tools, using modern frameworks and development tooling.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a closely related subject, with graduation expected before Summer 2027.
- Prior internship experience.
- Working knowledge or growing proficiency in one or more programming languages such as TypeScript, Node.js, or Python.
- Comfort with complex problems and an interest in uncovering issues as well as solving them.
- Ability to adapt quickly, solve problems, and handle shifting priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Availability to work in the San Francisco office from September 14 through December 4, aligned with the fall schedule.
Skills you'll need
- Interest in AI technologies, including LLMs, embeddings, or machine learning, with some experience building or prototyping with them.
- Structured problem-solving and the ability to break down difficult challenges into manageable steps.
- User-centered thinking and awareness of the broader impact of product decisions.
- Flexibility with technology choices and willingness to learn new tools and languages.
- Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain technical tradeoffs thoughtfully.
- Strong collaboration skills and a team-oriented approach.
Preferred background
- Experience with parts of the company’s stack such as TypeScript, React, or Python.
- Familiarity with computing pioneers such as Ada Lovelace, Douglas Engelbart, and Alan Kay, and appreciation for their contributions.
- Outside interests beyond technology, such as art, history, or social sciences.

The company offers competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. Pay is determined by several factors, including location, scope, complexity, experience, and expertise. For San Francisco-based roles, the estimated hourly pay is $57 for candidates pursuing a bachelor’s degree and $61 for candidates pursuing a master’s degree.
Application and privacy
By submitting an application, the candidate agrees that the company and its affiliates and subsidiaries will collect and process personal information according to its Global Recruiting Privacy Policy.
AI approach
The organization values intellectual curiosity, experimentation, and using AI as a practical collaborator in day-to-day work. In some roles, AI fluency is a formal requirement; where that is true, it is stated explicitly in the qualifications.
