Product Engineer Intern

About the internship

Metnmat Research is looking for a Product Engineer intern to support the design, development, testing, and launch of new products and prototypes. The role involves working across the product lifecycle, from concept stage through manufacturing, while contributing to documentation, analysis, and cross-functional coordination.

What you'll do

• Develop new product concepts and build prototypes.
• Create, update, and refine 3D CAD models and engineering drawings.
• Help move products from early concept to manufacturing readiness.
• Carry out product testing, validation, and performance evaluation.
• Prepare technical records, BOMs, and manufacturing specifications.
• Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams.
• Suggest improvements that enhance cost efficiency, quality, and ease of manufacturing.
• Assist production teams during launches and help troubleshoot issues.
• Follow engineering standards, quality guidelines, and safety norms.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement efforts and product innovation work.

Who can apply

This opportunity is open to candidates who can work full time from the office, are available to start between 8 Jul 2026 and 12 Aug 2026, and can commit to a 6-month internship. Applicants should have relevant skills and interest, and Mechanical Engineering students are specifically mentioned as eligible.

Requirements

• Sound understanding of product design and development workflows.
• Hands-on ability with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing methods and engineering materials.
• Familiarity with DFM and DFA concepts.
• Prior exposure to prototyping and product testing is an advantage.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience in preparing BOMs and managing product documentation.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
