Android Software Engineer

Overview

We seek a proficient Android Software Engineer to join a rapidly expanding fintech enterprise focused on delivering superior mobile experiences to a growing user base. This position suits individuals passionate about mobile app development, emphasizing performance, security, and smooth user interactions in consumer products.

As part of this role, you'll collaborate extensively with product managers, designers, and backend teams to craft and enhance features that drive user engagement and business success. The position is based at the Asian headquarters, with eligibility extended to applicants from core Asian markets and adjacent regions such as Hong Kong and Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Android applications prioritizing performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Work closely with product and design teams to convert requirements into user-friendly functionalities.
• Produce clean, maintainable, and testable code adhering to best practices.
• Enhance app performance, stability, and responsiveness across different devices.
• Integrate APIs and coordinate with backend teams concerning architecture and data flow.
• Engage in code reviews, testing, and continual development refinement.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues efficiently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3 to 6+ years of professional experience in Android application development.
• Strong command of Kotlin (favored) and/or Java programming languages.
• Experience with modern Android frameworks such as Jetpack and MVVM architecture.
• Comprehensive understanding of RESTful APIs and mobile app architecture.
• Proficiency with version control tools like Git.
• Knowledge of continuous integration/deployment pipelines and testing frameworks is advantageous.
• Background in consumer-facing applications, ideally in fintech, payments, or e-commerce sectors.
