Job Location
This role is fully remote within Canada.
Role Overview
The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will partner closely with Analytics, Operations, Data Management, and IT teams. The main objective is to comprehend and document strategic and tactical business needs to enable delivery of technology solutions optimized for stability, usability, and scalability that drive measurable value.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct workshops with business stakeholders involving storyboard creation, user story development, and requirements gathering.
- Digitally capture storyboarding outputs and provide essential contributions during technical design discussions.
- Maintain transparent communication to keep IT teams and stakeholders updated on project progress, potential issues, and key performance indicators.
- Work collaboratively across teams including IT project managers, architects, developers, and QA to ensure alignment.
- Lead the business analysis lifecycle through solution design and development, identifying dependencies and mitigating risks.
- Analyze and document existing and target business process models.
- Gather and document user stories, business requirements, business rules, and use cases accurately.
- Organize and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phases—planning, scripting, and facilitating test execution.
- Provide support for deployment and user adoption activities as necessary.
Required Skills and Experience
- At least 7 years of extensive experience across the full business analysis lifecycle.
- Proven track record of managing and delivering projects with high complexity and risk.
- Self-driven with a strong commitment to personal and professional growth.
- Excellent time management skills with capability to manage multiple tasks in fast-moving environments, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.
- Solid technical foundation including expertise in data warehouse modeling and business intelligence principles.
- Proficient with advanced BI and data visualization software such as ETL tools, Data Integration, Master Data Management, QlikView, Tableau, and SAS.
Educational Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline is required.
