About the Role
Join MGM Resorts International in the vibrant Las Vegas Metropolitan Area, where the atmosphere buzzes with excitement, diversity, and entertainment. As a Category Management Manager, you will spearhead the execution of category strategies and oversee the daily performance of selected spend categories and supplier portfolios. This position requires collaboration with sourcing teams, operations, suppliers, and various stakeholders to implement strategic procurement initiatives that enhance cost efficiency and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with rolling out category strategies and plans designed by senior leadership.
- Conduct comprehensive market research and analyze supplier data to guide decision-making.
- Track and report on category performance metrics to assess effectiveness.
- Act as the primary contact for daily interactions and resolutions with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance, pinpointing improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to the preparation and evaluation of supplier business reviews and development plans.
- Collaborate with sourcing and operations to ensure procurement aligns with organizational needs.
- Communicate updates, challenges, and prospects to internal teams.
- Gather insights from operational units to inform category planning.
- Conduct cost analyses, forecast demand, and monitor expenditures.
- Ensure accuracy of data and tools used to measure category health and supplier metrics.
- Support the development of value tracking and performance dashboards.
- Oversee compliance, ensuring all vendors adhere to regulatory, ethical sourcing, ESG, and supplier diversity standards.
- Facilitate implementation of ESG and supplier diversity programs within assigned categories.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- At least four years of relevant experience in supply chain, category management, or procurement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline is preferred.
- Experience in data analysis, supplier relationship management, and cross-functional teamwork is advantageous.
