About Zego
Zego is on a mission to reshape motor insurance so that better drivers are not penalized by outdated pricing and complexity. Built since 2016, the company focuses on offering lower-priced insurance for good drivers, serving van drivers, gig workers, and everyday motorists. It has issued tens of millions of policies, secured over $200 million in funding, and earned industry recognition, including Insurance Claims Team of the Year 2024 at The Insurance Post's Claims & Fraud Awards.
Role purpose
Zego is hiring a proactive and analytical Claims Data Analyst to strengthen Claims and Fraud operations. In this fast-scaling, product-led environment, you will help drive improvements across a critical part of the insurance business. Your analysis will support strategy, improve operational efficiency, and surface opportunities for ongoing enhancement. You will create insightful reports and dashboards, work closely with Claims and Fraud teams, and provide evidence-based recommendations to leaders and other stakeholders.
What you'll do
- Develop core data models and reporting that support Claims and Fraud operations.
- Create reporting packs for senior stakeholders, including company leadership, investors, and insurance partners.
- Review performance data, identify patterns, and explain the factors driving outcomes so processes can be improved.
- Quantify and track continuous improvement opportunities and measure the effect of initiatives over time.
- Support the Claims and Fraud leadership team with data-informed strategic decisions.
- Turn complex data into clear, persuasive narratives for senior management.
- Partner across teams to support Claims, Fraud, Pricing, and external reporting requirements.
What you need
- A degree is helpful, but equivalent practical experience is also acceptable; a STEM background is a plus.
- Strong SQL ability for querying, extracting, and manipulating data.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI, including building models, reports, and dashboards.
- Ability to present data findings in a way that is clear, engaging, and meaningful for senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the motor insurance market is advantageous.
- Understanding of claims workflows, reserving, and settlements is beneficial.
- Actuarial and reserving knowledge, especially the ability to connect Claims, Fraud, and Actuarial teams, would be valuable.
