Role Summary
The Client Onboarding Manager leads the onboarding of new clients introduced through partnerships, guiding them through Connecteam’s implementation from project handoff to successful payroll execution. This hands-on, customer-facing role blends project management, system setup, payroll process expertise, client training, and collaboration with internal teams to ensure accurate payroll and smooth client adoption.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage customer onboarding end to end for partner-originated accounts, ensuring smooth transition through kickoff, setup, training, and initial payroll stabilization.
- Create implementation plans aligned with first clock-in, payroll schedules, training needs, and deadlines.
- Lead kickoff meetings, system configurations, client training sessions, and payroll launches with clear communication throughout.
- Gather detailed client requirements, translate workflows into practical Connecteam setups, and design tailored solutions addressing complex needs.
- Configure Connecteam account settings, payroll system integrations, and manage these integrations effectively.
- Train clients and managers on platform use, payroll, and time tracking processes, adapting materials for customer size and complexity with process-oriented sessions.
- Coordinate closely with partners, sales, support, product, integrations, and leadership teams for seamless project execution.
- Troubleshoot issues using comprehensive workflow investigation, accurately document challenges, indicate ownership, and escalate payroll-critical risks as needed.
- Maintain thorough records including architecture decisions, risk assessments, next steps, and comprehensive project documentation.
Candidate Profile and Required Expertise
- Minimum 2 years of experience in SaaS implementation or onboarding roles, focused on SMB and mid-market clients.
- Exceptional project management ability, juggling multiple implementations and priorities effectively.
- Strong communication skills with talent in delivering presentations and training to both technical and non-technical users.
- Technical aptitude for rapid software learning, troubleshooting, understanding of integrations and data flows.
- Outstanding organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and commitment to customer success during complex implementations.
- Proven relationship-building skills to foster trust with customers, partners, and internal colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with sound judgment and adaptability to evolving customer requirements.
Preferred Background
- Experience in payroll systems, HRIS, workforce management, scheduling, time and attendance, or employee management platforms.
- Familiarity with payroll implementations, Professional Employer Organizations (PEO), or multi-location/multi-entity company environments.
- Background working within partner-led or channel-based customer frameworks.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary of $90,000 per year.
