Position Overview
The Museum of Looted Antiquities is looking for a meticulous and insightful Data Analyst to convert complex datasets into compelling insights that bolster strategic business decisions. This individual will be responsible for collecting, cleansing, and examining substantial amounts of data, detecting significant trends and patterns, as well as crafting reports and dashboards to aid stakeholders in tracking performance and refining business approaches.
Key Duties
- Analyze both structured and unstructured data sources to extract meaningful information.
- Develop visualizations and dashboards that facilitate easy comprehension of insights.
- Generate both scheduled and on-demand reports to support various business needs.
- Ensure data accuracy and uphold data integrity across systems.
- Collaborate across teams to understand business goals and translate data findings into practical recommendations.
- Support efforts to enhance processes through data-driven findings, including monitoring key performance indicators.
- Automate reporting where feasible to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in data governance and business intelligence frameworks.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, Business Analytics, or related disciplines.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Proficient in SQL for data querying, manipulation, and verification.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or comparable software.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including complex formulas and PivotTables.
- Familiarity with programming languages like Python or R for data processing and automation.
- Knowledge of statistical techniques, data modeling, and reporting standards.
- Understanding of ETL workflows, data warehousing principles, and database management.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data quality and accuracy.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management capabilities.
- Effective communication skills to convey analytical results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Capability to operate independently and collaboratively within diverse teams.
- Adaptability and eagerness to acquire new analytical tools and technologies in a dynamic environment.
