Role overview
This full-time role is for a detail-focused Data Entry and Software Operator at a retail mart in Ahmedabad, located at Chandan Value Mart on Sanand Road. The position reports to the Store Manager or Store Owner and is centered on maintaining accurate records in the store’s retail management software.
The main purpose of the job is to handle purchase bill entry, keep inventory and pricing information updated, and make sure the software mirrors the store’s actual stock position, product rates, and expiry details.
Core duties
- Enter supplier invoices, purchase bills, and credit notes into the retail software with high accuracy.
- Update stock quantities, purchase cost, selling price, and manufacturing or expiry dates when new goods arrive.
- Oversee routine software tasks such as barcode creation, product category updates, and basic troubleshooting.
- Compare physical purchase documents with delivered stock to catch any quantity or pricing differences before posting entries.
- Prepare purchase and inventory reports on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis for management.
- Maintain clean and reliable data so that billing mistakes, stock shortages, and unnecessary reordering are avoided.
Experience and skill requirements
The ideal candidate should have 1 to 2 years of experience in roles such as data entry operator, inventory clerk, or computer operator, preferably in a supermarket, mart, or retail setup.
Familiarity with retail software, inventory systems, or ERP platforms is important, and prior exposure to tools such as Tally, Marg, Busy, or similar POS systems will be considered a strong advantage. Strong typing ability, accurate data handling, and good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel are also expected.
The person should be comfortable identifying mismatches in prices, taxes, or quantities on vendor bills and should be able to work with care and consistency.
Education
Candidates should have completed Higher Secondary (10+2) or hold a graduate degree in any stream. A basic computer applications certificate is preferred.
Compensation
The role offers a monthly stipend/salary in the range of INR 8,000 to 10,000.
