Demand Planner

Role Overview

A rapidly growing company based in Dublin is looking to hire a skilled Demand Planner in a newly established position. This role is pivotal in making sure that the right products are available by effectively managing inventory and contributing to operational efficiency throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Create precise demand forecasts by examining past sales records, market developments, promotions, and customer behavior to maintain ideal stock levels across all sales channels.
• Collaborate with departments such as Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to collect necessary information and harmonize assumptions for demand planning.
• Regularly evaluate forecast accuracy, identify discrepancies or risks early, and execute corrective measures to reduce shortages or surplus stock.
• Compile comprehensive reports and presentations on demand patterns, forecast accuracy, and vital indicators for senior leadership review.
• Utilize advanced planning software to efficiently handle data inputs and derive actionable insights that drive ongoing improvements in forecasting methods.
• Engage actively in monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings to communicate forecast changes, address challenges, and propose solutions aligned with business goals.
• Coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams to plan replenishment schedules considering updated demand signals and delivery lead times.

Candidate Profile

• A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, or a related area is preferred.
• Proven experience in demand planning or supply chain management within the consumer goods or manufacturing sectors is critical.
• Familiarity with forecasting tools such as SAP APO, Oracle Demantra, or equivalent software is highly valued for effective data handling and reports generation.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret extensive datasets accurately and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
• Experience contributing to S&OP or similar collaborative planning meetings, demonstrating strategic input capabilities.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs; knowledge of Power BI or comparable visualization platforms is an advantage.
• A proactive mindset toward process enhancements indicates dedication to continuously improve supply chain functions.
