Role Overview

The Electrical Project Engineer is a pivotal member of the team, responsible for overseeing the electrical scope throughout design review, installation, commissioning, and project handover stages. Collaborating with the Project Manager, Electrical Engineering Lead, subcontractors, suppliers, and client stakeholders, you will ensure all electrical systems are implemented safely and efficiently, meeting all project specifications. This position is ideal for an ambitious engineer eager to enhance both technical expertise and project execution skills in a dynamic and challenging setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and technical challenges to the Project Manager and Electrical Engineering Lead.
• Examine and validate electrical drawings, schematics, and design documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Handle technical submittals, requests for information, equipment schedules, and engineering tracking documents efficiently.
• Assess supplier and vendor submissions to confirm alignment with project requirements and standards.
• Identify and address discrepancies in design, scope limitations, or potential constructability problems.
• Coordinate activities among subcontractors, suppliers, and cross-disciplinary project teams to maintain workflow consistency.
• Support procurement processes and assist in selecting appropriate equipment for project needs.
• Oversee on-site electrical installations, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
• Conduct thorough quality inspections and system walkthroughs to verify readiness for commissioning stages.
• Contribute to testing, commissioning, and final project handover activities ensuring client satisfaction.
• Ensure all activities comply with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain precise and up-to-date project documentation and engineering records throughout the project lifecycle.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in an Electrical Project Engineer role within commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or similar sectors.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical building services and power distribution systems.
• Proven ability to review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
• A background in electrical trades is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with Revit software and BIM coordination is a plus.
• Strong organizational and project planning capabilities.
• Exceptional communication skills and adeptness at managing stakeholder relationships.
• Ability to collaboratively work within multidisciplinary project teams.
