Engineering Manager

Role Overview

The Engineering Manager will lead and mentor cross-functional engineering teams responsible for COP28 DUBAI UAE's platforms, technology tools, and infrastructure. This position operates on a part-time basis with a hybrid work model based in Dubai, blending onsite collaboration with remote work as project demands dictate.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and manage engineering projects ensuring timely and quality delivery.
• Guide and support software development efforts across multiple teams.
• Oversee system integrations spanning diverse platforms to ensure cohesive operations.
• Align technical solutions with organizational goals and strategic objectives.
• Mentor team members fostering best practices and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with product and operations stakeholders for coordinated efforts.
• Monitor project timelines, manage quality assurance processes, and identify and mitigate risks.
• Review architectural and design decisions to maintain scalable, sustainable solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges as they arise.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven leadership in engineering management with the ability to cultivate a collaborative team culture.
• Strong software development expertise, familiar with modern tools, practices, and system architectures.
• Project management proficiency, including thorough planning and stakeholder coordination for complex projects.
• Experience in systems integration involving connection of services, systems, and data flows across varied environments.
• Background in large-scale event management, public sector initiatives, sustainability, or climate-focused projects is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to engage stakeholders and solve problems within multicultural teams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Capacity to balance priorities and meet deadlines independently in a part-time, hybrid Dubai-based role.
