Job Description
This position is based onsite in Sault Ste. Marie or Toronto for the Fall term, from September to December 2026, as a full-time student role offering hourly compensation between $18.50 and $28.50. The role is focused on advancing innovative design and development solutions.
Your Role in the Team
- Collect business requirements from the laboratory team to inform development.
- Confirm that UI/UX designs are technically achievable.
- Work alongside developers to create, maintain, and optimize efficient, reusable, and dependable codebases.
- Build user-centric features and reusable code components for future projects.
- Perform unit testing to guarantee compatibility across various devices and browsers.
- Proactively identify potential risks or issues related to solutions and communicate these to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- Genuine enthusiasm for designing and building user interfaces and Single Page Applications.
- Basic understanding of software coding and development processes.
- Familiarity with programming languages and frameworks such as JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Node.js, React or Vue.js, and RESTful APIs.
- Strong communication capabilities to effectively collaborate with technology and operational teams.
- Keen desire to learn, meticulous attention to detail, and effective time-management and organizational skills to handle multiple deadlines in a demanding environment.
- Adeptness in working cooperatively within an agile development environment.
