Full Stack Web Developer (React/ArcGIS)

Overview

We are looking for an expert GIS Web Developer tasked with leading the creation of robust and high-performance geospatial web applications. This role requires bridging complex spatial data analytics with contemporary user interfaces by applying the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript alongside the React framework to deliver advanced location intelligence solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop responsive and scalable web applications utilizing React Hooks, TypeScript, and state management tools such as Redux or Context API.
• Integrate advanced mapping functionalities through ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript (version 4.x), supporting both 2D and 3D visualization, feature layers, and spatial query implementation.
• Create and customize widgets within ArcGIS Experience Builder (Developer Edition) to fulfill specific business needs.
• Enhance spatial data interactions with ArcGIS REST APIs and Feature Services to reduce latency and improve geometry rendering efficiency.
• Apply the Esri Calcite Design System to maintain a uniform, accessible, and user-focused design across all geospatial tools.
• Collaborate closely with GIS Analysts and other stakeholders to convert business requirements into technical solutions and lead code reviews for junior development staff.

Required Expertise

• Minimum five years of experience using React, especially with Functional Components and Hooks, alongside modern build tools like Vite or Webpack.
• Deep familiarity with the Esri ecosystem, including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Pro.
• Extensive knowledge of ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, covering spatial analysis, geoprocessing services, and OAuth 2.0 security protocols.
• Sound understanding of geospatial concepts such as coordinate systems (WGS84, Web Mercator), map projections, and spatial algorithm design.
• Proficiency in managing spatial data with SQL databases (PostGIS or SQL Server) and automating processes using Python scripting with ArcPy.

Educational and Professional Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems, or related STEM disciplines.
• Professional experience: At least five years in software development, with no less than three years dedicated to ArcGIS web application development.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the capability to articulate complex spatial information to individuals without technical backgrounds.
