Job Summary
The General Labourer role involves supporting various duties along the production line including maintaining cleanliness and order within the workspace. The job prioritizes safe working practices, leadership within the team, and upholding efficiency and quality standards. Candidates with tire industry experience who are physically robust and capable of working both independently and collaboratively will perform best in this role.
Responsibilities
- Assist in unloading tire shipments from trucks.
- Organize and move tires within yard or warehouse areas.
- Ensure accurate inventory counts of unloaded tires.
- Maintain cleanliness around machinery and within workspaces.
- Lead team members by exemplifying high standards of work and safety awareness.
- Comply with company health and safety policies, alongside OHSA guidelines.
- Monitor and oversee the unloading and grading team’s activities continuously.
Qualifications & Skills
- Preferably 2-3 years of prior experience in the automotive tire sector.
- Ability to lead smaller teams and accomplish assigned tasks promptly.
- Strong physical endurance to lift and handle items weighing up to 60 lbs repeatedly.
- Availability to work day and/or evening shifts as required.
- Skill in developing and maintaining effective operational relationships.
- Capacity to work autonomously with minimal supervision or detailed instructions.
- Capability to perform heavy manual labour under varying weather conditions.
- Dependable, punctual, and promotes teamwork.
