Role Overview
As a GitHub Specialist at HDI Group, you will be instrumental in advancing, maintaining, and operating the central GitHub Enterprise Cloud platform. Your responsibilities include administering and automating GitHub Enterprise components such as organizations, teams, permissions, policies, GitHub Apps, and integrations. You will enhance our internal Workflow Library by developing reusable workflows, actions, and templates and assist in migrating from Azure DevOps to GitHub Enterprise Cloud.
You'll also lead the introduction, evolution, and management of GitHub Advanced Security features such as code scanning, secret scanning, Dependabot, and security overview. Providing expert advice and support to international internal clients on migration processes, workflow design, security onboarding, and best practices will be key aspects of your role. Additionally, you will design automations, tools, and reference implementations to optimize platform utilization and collaborate closely with developers, architects, security experts, and stakeholders within an agile environment. Continuous improvement of developer experience, platform quality, and automation levels will be a priority.
Candidate Profile
- Significant practical experience working with GitHub Enterprise, preferably GitHub Enterprise Cloud, in a corporate environment.
- Strong expertise in GitHub administration, including GitHub Actions, repository management, permission models, organizational settings, and platform governance.
- Experience with GitHub Advanced Security or similar application security and code scanning platforms.
- Proficiency in automating platform processes, ideally using TypeScript, Python, Golang, and Bash.
- Well-versed in CI/CD principles, reusable workflows, actions, templates, and self-service initiatives for development teams.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, especially regarding migration to GitHub, is advantageous.
- High intrinsic motivation and dedication to mastering GitHub, automation, and developer platform engineering.
- Strong drive to optimize repetitive tasks for efficiency and sustainability through automation.
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for providing solution-focused consulting and enablement to internal clients.
- Commitment to quality with attention to clean code, usability, automated testing, reliable CI/CD pipelines, and maintainable platform solutions.
- Proficiency in German and English languages at least at the C1 level.
