Primary Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve low complexity software application and system issues related to Applied Materials’ equipment with guidance.
- Manage customer software support requests through a ticketing system.
- Assist field engineers by analyzing software problems reported on customer tools.
- Demonstrate foundational knowledge of the business unit’s products, system software, and utilize troubleshooting tools and best-known methods.
- Complete all required company training and certifications to deepen product expertise.
- Familiarize with equipment software documentation, key features important to customers, and instructions for installation or software upgrades.
- Investigate and resolve both internal and external application and system issues.
- Develop, test, and validate installation and upgrade procedures for product releases.
- Engage in product testing, review documentation, and participate in user conferences.
- Provide scheduled after-hours support via pager and phone and share telephone coverage duties.
- Attend training sessions offered internally and for third-party software essential to the role.
- Offer ongoing technical training to customers related to software and system issues.
- Prepare and deliver progress updates and reports to management and team members.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics, or related engineering disciplines.
- Open to fresh graduates as well as candidates with up to two years of relevant experience.
- Possess basic conceptual understanding of theories, practices, and procedures pertinent to the discipline.
- Apply general business knowledge obtained through education or prior experience.
- Expected to develop deliverables individually without supervisory duties.
- Utilize established procedures to address standard challenges and evaluate information to make informed decisions.
- Operate within standardized protocols to meet objectives and deadlines, with limited influence on team-wide outcomes.
- Communicate clearly by exchanging straightforward information and confirming understanding.
Additional Information
- Employment Status: Full time, new college graduate position.
- Travel Requirement: Approximately 50% travel commitment.
- Relocation: Not eligible for relocation assistance.
