Role Overview
We are looking to hire a skilled and motivated Interface Engineer to contribute to a major road construction project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves managing multidisciplinary coordination and ensuring seamless integration across engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in infrastructure projects such as highways, railways, metros, airports, or significant transportation developments.
- Proven expertise in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and managing interface processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering designs, construction methods, and project execution workflows.
- Experience engaging with utility authorities, consultants, contractors, and other external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with project controls, risk and change management, and document control routines.
- Capability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, technical specifications, and documentation.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, coordination, and stakeholder handling abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering document management platforms.
- Fluent in English, both written and oral.
- Previous involvement in Middle East projects, particularly within Saudi Arabia, is highly advantageous.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate technical interfaces among engineering disciplines, contractors, subcontractors, utility providers, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Detect, track, and resolve issues related to interfaces that could affect design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning stages.
- Maintain and update interface registers, action trackers, and coordination reports to ensure clarity and accountability.
- Review engineering outputs to verify consistency across civil, structural, bridge, drainage, utilities, traffic, electrical, mechanical, and landscaping elements.
- Assist the Interface Manager with crafting and enforcing interface management processes and operational workflows.
- Promote effective communication and information exchange amongst project teams to promptly address interface conflicts.
- Coordinate third-party and utility interfaces to guarantee schedules, technical specifications, and regulatory compliance are met.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary design reviews, technical workshops, and various coordination meetings.
- Monitor interface-related risks proactively and help formulate appropriate mitigation and recovery strategies.
- Ensure interface considerations are integrated throughout engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, meeting documentation, presentations, and status updates for management.
- Support stakeholder relations and assist in securing approvals from pertinent authorities and external entities.
