Overview
Join a prominent commodities trading firm as a Junior Quantitative Analyst working directly with the front-office trading desk. Key Duties
- Create and refine quantitative models and trading methodologies
- Process extensive datasets to uncover market opportunities and deliver actionable insights
- Track trading operations, assess the effectiveness of strategies, and monitor risk indicators
- Assist in trade implementations and the continual refinement of systematic trading processes
- Work collaboratively with traders and relevant parties to enhance decision-making and overall trading results
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Possesses a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or another analytically intensive field (particularly those with engineering backgrounds)
- Proficient in C++ programming, a fundamental skill for this position
- Competent in Python programming
- Strong understanding of machine learning and statistical methodologies
- Experience handling large-scale datasets for analysis
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
- High level of precision and the capacity to flourish in a rapid-paced setting
- A passionate interest in financial markets and trading processes, ideally evidenced by independent trading or tech-related projects such as personal trading strategy development, backtesting systems, market data tools, or contributions to open-source initiatives
Preferred Background
- Experience in commodity markets, energy sectors, trading, or closely related client-facing roles
- Previous internships in quantitative research, trading analytics, or financial market analysis
- Familiarity with systematic trading, advanced quantitative modelling, or market investigation
- Personal or side projects linked to trading, financial markets, or technical development
