Job Overview

STARK is hiring a 2nd Shift Machine Operator at its Calhoun, GA facility. The role involves operating industrial sewing machines to produce superior carpet products, ensuring precision, efficiency, and quality in all stages of production.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate various industrial sewing machines, including single-needle types, to assemble carpet products.
• Understand and interpret fabrication work orders, detailed specifications, and sewing protocols.
• Identify and verify the correct yarns and materials necessary for assigned work orders.
• Precisely align and sew materials adhering to seam allowances, stitch selection, and tension requirements.
• Conduct quality inspections on finished products to uphold STARK's standards.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and promptly report mechanical issues to supervision.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, complying with safety guidelines.
• Collaborate effectively with coworkers and assist in other production activities when required.
• Adapt to working in warehouse conditions, including temperature extremes throughout seasons.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Preferred at least one year of experience with industrial sewing or machine operation; training is available for qualified individuals.
• Basic familiarity with industrial sewing equipment and textile materials.
• Exceptional attention to detail combined with strong hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to comprehend and follow work instructions and production orders accurately.
• Capable of working independently with limited supervision and cooperatively in a team setting.
• Physical stamina to stand for long durations during shifts.
• Ability to lift weights up to 25 pounds and push or pull up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Flexibility to perform tasks involving bending, squatting, kneeling, and repetitive hand motions.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
