Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and execute maintenance strategies for mechanical equipment, incorporating preventive, predictive, and corrective methods to uphold equipment reliability and maintain production flow.
• Enhance equipment reliability by analyzing downtime, mean time between failures (MTBF), and mean time to repair (MTTR); identify mechanical failure causes and apply preventive measures to boost machine availability.
• Lead thorough root cause analysis (RCA, A3, and 5 Why methodologies) to resolve mechanical failures on cam-controlled mechanisms, injection molding machines, and automated lines, preventing recurrent problems.
• Utilize data-driven techniques to define and optimize maintenance procedures, including inspections, lubrication plans, wear part replacements, and overhaul schedules, ensuring peak functionality and minimal downtime.
• Take ownership of the mechanical performance of critical advanced automated manufacturing equipment such as cam-driven forming/assembly machines and plastic injection molding machinery covering mechanical systems, clamping, and cooling units.
• Collaborate with production, toolmaking, and engineering teams to boost machine stability, maintain consistent cycle times, and refine overall operational performance.
• Design and roll out predictive maintenance programs that leverage condition monitoring, wear evaluation, and failure pattern analysis to minimize unplanned outages.
• Support commissioning and scaling-up of equipment by ensuring mechanical durability, maintainability, and readiness for series production.
• Push continuous enhancements to mechanical systems focusing on reducing breakdowns, extending equipment lifespan, and stabilizing manufacturing processes.
• Standardize maintenance workflows and documentations to uniformly apply best practices and technical guidelines across equipment.
• Offer expert technical advice on complex mechanical issues, assisting maintenance technicians in troubleshooting without assuming direct execution responsibilities.
• Work closely with in-house and external partners including toolmakers, engineers, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to troubleshoot, apply improvements, and aid equipment upgrades.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a Bachelor's degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of practical experience in industrial automation environments.
• Familiarity with cam-controlled machines such as Bihler (preferred), Wafios, and Finzer.

Skills and Attributes

• Proficient in CAD, programmable logic controllers (SPS), and human-machine interface (HMI) systems; programming skills are considered a plus.
• Demonstrate quick learning ability, continuous improvement mindset, and flexibility to work in shifts.
