• Managing interlinked process dependencies to improve control efficiency.
• Securing timely access to the information needed for accurate reporting and review.

Key responsibilities

• Check reconciliation statements across all accounts and ensure they follow the defined reconciliation standards.
• Oversee adherence to reporting requirements under reconciliation standards and flag any departures.
• Improve the reconciliation flow between support systems and finance systems so that manual work in accounting is kept to a minimum.
• Review financial reporting processes and strengthen them to improve the accuracy of reporting outputs.
• Investigate and support resolution of issues identified through reconciliation exceptions.
• Identify points where manual intervention creates control risk and assess opportunities for automation.
• Work on automation initiatives that improve control effectiveness and reduce operational risk.
• Design and build exception reports for critical control areas to surface gaps and trigger timely alerts.
• Develop and implement MIS and reporting mechanisms that give the Head of Finance clear feedback on the strength and effectiveness of controls.
• Escalate significant control gaps promptly so that corrective measures can be taken without delay.
