Manager - Operational Technology and IT Systems

Overview

A prominent organization in Singapore is looking to hire a Manager to lead the performance, dependability, and security of a vital automated material handling system. This role demands maintaining the stability of the High-Level Control (HLC) platform that underpins system operations, while spearheading technology upgrades, operational robustness, and adherence to cybersecurity standards throughout the system.

Key Responsibilities

The Manager will supervise the vendor partner managing the HLC platform, guaranteeing optimal system availability, performance, and cybersecurity compliance. Collaboration with internal teams and external partners is essential to examine operational data, detect trends, reduce risks, and propose continuous enhancements. Leading modernization efforts for the HLC environment, overseeing software and hardware lifecycle strategies, supporting system upgrades through project execution and Site Acceptance Testing are integral. The role also includes managing incident investigations, resolving intricate network and software challenges, establishing business continuity protocols during disruptions, and ensuring compliance with ISO 27001, Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) guidelines, and other applicable cybersecurity regulations. Effective coordination with contractors, consultants, vendors, regulatory bodies, and internal business units is key to success.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience managing enterprise-level IT network infrastructures. Experience with operational technology (OT) or High-Level Control (HLC) systems implemented in logistics, manufacturing, aviation, or similar automated settings will be advantageous. Professional networking certifications, such as CCNP, are preferred. Strong technical proficiency in network infrastructures, cybersecurity technologies, and core protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP is required. Experience operating network monitoring systems, managing projects, and troubleshooting complex software and infrastructure issues is essential. Analytical skills and knowledge of data analytics or visualization tools will support problem-solving efforts.
