About the role
Swift Transportation is looking for a Planner to support load assignment and regional planning. The role is centered on matching freight with available drivers and equipment while helping maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
Pay range for this position is $21 to $28.
What you will do
- Build creative solutions that help meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Allocate loads using customer needs, driver availability, and the profitability goals for the assigned region.
- Track market conditions, monitor under- and over-capacity, and coordinate freight needs with Customer Accounts on a daily basis.
- Evaluate the balance between truck demand and load volume, then assign freight to the appropriate trucks.
- Develop a deeper understanding of the assigned market and customer base, and share insights with sales and customer account teams.
- Review reports regularly, spot inefficiencies or waste, and work with sales or customer accounts to improve the solution.
Experience and qualifications
This role requires at least 2 years of experience in Operations, Planning, and/or Customer Accounts. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-moving, high-pressure setting, and need strong problem-solving ability along with the ability to persuade and influence others.
