QA Automation Tester

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled QA Automation Tester to join an expanding software development team located near Perth's CBD. This key role involves both manual and automated testing to uphold the high quality of an innovative range of medical software products. Your responsibilities will include regression testing, maintaining end-to-end automation, and close collaboration with developers to deliver reliable web and mobile application software.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of three years of professional experience in software testing.
• At least two years focused on end-to-end (E2E) automation testing.
• Proficiency in testing web and mobile applications.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright or similar JavaScript-based automation tools.
• Skills in debugging web applications and analyzing browser network data.
• Strong teamwork and problem-solving capabilities.

Technical Competencies

• Commercial software testing expertise.
• E2E automation testing experience.
• Familiarity with tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or Puppeteer.
• Testing across web and mobile platforms.
• Browser troubleshooting and network inspection.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience with medical device software.
• Knowledge of CI/CD testing integration.
• Background in Verification and Validation (V&V) processes.
• Understanding of regulated software environments.

Primary Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans, cases, and scripts.
• Creating and maintaining E2E automated tests using Playwright.
• Conducting functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
• Validating software against defined product requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborating with developers to find, document, and track defects.
• Engaging in sprint planning, refinement, and review meetings.
• Supporting CI/CD pipelines with automated test suites integration.
• Contributing to documentation relevant to regulated software testing.
• Ensuring traceability among requirements, risks, and test cases.
• Assisting in V&V activities.
• Identifying areas to enhance testing processes, automation coverage, and quality standards.

Working Conditions

• Annual salary range estimated between $70,000 and $80,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience.
