Role Overview
Join as a Quantitative Finance Evaluator to contribute to advancing rigorous automated quantitative reasoning in finance. This position involves analyzing and comparing outputs generated by models tasked with solving complex problems in derivatives pricing, risk frameworks, and market modeling. Your structured evaluations and feedback will directly influence the refinement of automated reasoning systems in quantitative finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess paired model outputs for quantitative finance tasks, determining which demonstrates more robust methodology, numerical correctness, and logical consistency.
- Provide clear, evidence-backed explanations for preference in outputs, focusing on the accuracy of financial reasoning, validity of model assumptions, and soundness of quantitative techniques.
- Detect and report errors pertaining to derivatives pricing logic, statistical methods, or risk modeling found within evaluated responses.
- Compose structured written feedback to be utilized by research teams for tuning and enhancing model behavior.
- Engage in onboarding and specialized calibration meetings to standardize evaluation criteria among reviewers.
Required Qualifications
- Professional experience in quantitative finance sectors, such as hedge funds, quantitative trading, derivatives, or risk management, with practical skills in quantitative modeling and financial analysis.
- An advanced degree (Master's or Doctorate) in Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics, or equivalent industry expertise.
- Competency in Python programming, including libraries like NumPy and pandas, for modeling, data handling, and analytical validation.
- Strong knowledge of derivatives pricing methods, statistical inference, and risk measurement techniques.
- Excellent written communication skills capable of conveying technical assessments precisely and succinctly.
Preferred Additional Experience
- Familiarity with equity research or systematic trading strategies to provide a wider perspective on quantitative finance fields.
- Background in reviewing or critiquing quantitative research in academic, publishing, or institutional settings.
