Role Overview
The Sales Manager is responsible for the acquisition and active engagement of single-outlet independent restaurants within a designated city territory. Acting as the key liaison, you will understand partner restaurant operations and challenges, facilitate their growth in orders, visibility, and customer interaction. This position requires consultative sales abilities, on-field presence, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to partner success, offering valuable insights into restaurant operations and career growth pathways.
Responsibilities
- Manage a specific geographic area and cultivate strong, productive relationships with assigned restaurant partners.
- Engage with partners primarily through face-to-face visits, including product demonstrations, ROI evaluations, and discussions of mutual benefits.
- Perform consultative selling by identifying partner needs through in-depth questioning about delivery logistics, marketing expenditures, business objectives, then positioning Swiggy’s offerings as tailored solutions.
- Oversee the full partner lifecycle monthly, including pitching, negotiating, activation, and ongoing assistance.
- Utilize data-driven techniques to monitor adoption, investigate obstacles to growth, resolve problems, and adjust strategies as necessary.
- Be accountable for revenue goals in the assigned territory by managing your sales pipeline and conversion metrics.
- Possess advanced proficiency in Excel or equivalent spreadsheet software to manage and report data related to daily activities.
- Keep informed about restaurant market trends, competitor activities, and local dynamics to provide field feedback for product development.
- Conduct 80 to 90 in-person meetings with restaurant partners monthly to sustain engagement and growth.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Experience ranging from zero up to two years in B2B sales, field sales, or business development, ideally within FMCG, food and beverage, or hospitality sectors.
- Proven ability to achieve or exceed sales targets while independently managing pipelines.
- Strong ownership mentality necessary to drive growth for a portfolio of restaurant partners in a continuous operational setting.
- Comfortable with data tools, especially advanced Excel functions including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and dashboard creation without external assistance.
- A postgraduate degree, preferably in marketing or sales fields, is expected.
