This role as a Store Manager In Training (SMIT) is designed to prepare you for a future leadership position as a Store Manager.

Program Overview

The SMIT program is a 16-week development initiative combining self-paced and collaborative learning. You’ll engage in both virtual and hands-on experiences, supported by your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach to foster growth towards store leadership.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to lead and support your team.
• Deliver excellent customer service experiences.
• Implement merchandising methods aimed at driving store sales growth.
• Manage store inventory and assets to sustain profitability.

Expectations

• Participate actively in key learning opportunities and engage closely with your leaders during the program.
• Contribute as a management team member, leading in alignment with CVS values and policies.
• Encourage colleagues in advancing the company’s mission to help people on their journey to better health.
• Be open to promotion within the designated market area and potential transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores as needed.
• Accept variable work schedules based on business demands.

Additional Information

Selection as an SMIT does not automatically guarantee promotion. Advancement depends on multiple factors including performance and store leadership availability. The role anticipates weekly hours of approximately 45 hours. The base pay range is typically between $18.50 and $23.88 per hour, influenced by experience, education, and location.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience considered.
• Experience in retail management or as a CVS Supervisor is beneficial.
