Story Plot Developer

About the Role

Lattle Media is looking for a Story Plot Developer who can dig into real incidents and turn them into compelling plot foundations for the scriptwriting team. The role is centered on building gripping story outlines drawn from authentic events, with a strong emphasis on psychological drama, crime, mystery, unusual behavior, and thriller-style storytelling.

What You’ll Do

• Build detailed story plots based on true incidents, shaping character arcs, conflict, suspense, twists, and a clear narrative flow for writers to expand into scripts.
• Look for and study real-life stories involving drama, mystery, strange events, thrilling situations, and unusual human behavior.
• Bring in creative angles, emotional triggers, and unexpected developments to make each plot more engaging and cinematic.
• Work closely with the creative and scriptwriting team so the material matches the channel’s voice, style, and audience expectations.

What We’re Looking For

• Genuine interest in US-based psychological drama, mystery, crime, bizarre incidents, thrillers, and true-story content. Candidates should regularly follow this type of material through books, documentaries, films, podcasts, YouTube channels, or articles.
• Strong sense of story structure and the ability to shape real events into engaging plotlines.
• Clear and effective written English communication.
• Comfort with using online research sources such as articles, news sites, Reddit, forums, YouTube, podcasts, and other public platforms.
• Ability to work on your own, stay on schedule, and submit research in a neat, organized format.

Preferred Background

• Interest or experience in storytelling, creative writing, research, journalism, content creation, screenwriting, true crime, documentaries, or digital media.
• Any previous work involving story research, summary writing, plot development, or content creation for YouTube, podcasts, short films, documentaries, or social media will be considered an advantage.

Compensation

This is a contract role with compensation described as attractive and dependent on the quality of work delivered.
