Role Overview

The Tax Manager role is a full-time on-site position located in Dar es Salaam. This position entails leading and managing all tax-related functions, including tax planning, compliance, reporting, and preparing tax documentation either for clients or the organization itself. Responsibilities encompass reviewing tax returns to ensure conformity with Tanzania's tax regulations, offering advice on tax-efficient organizational structures, monitoring legislative changes, and collaborating with various internal teams and external bodies. The role also involves addressing tax-related inquiries, aiding in audit processes, and providing strategic tax insights to aid business decisions. This position demands an analytical mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to clearly convey complex tax information.

Key Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated expertise in tax planning and strategic optimization aligned with business goals.
• Between 5 to 8 years of experience in tax consulting or tax management roles within firms or similar settings.
• Proficient in tax compliance and preparation, ensuring accurate and timely tax filings.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws and their practical application.
• Well-versed in various tax domains including corporate, personal, and indirect taxation.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related discipline; professional accreditation such as CPA or equivalent is advantageous.
• Experience in tax management or public accounting roles within Tanzania or the surrounding region.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills, with great accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of simplifying complex tax matters for diverse audiences.
• High ethical standards, protection of confidentiality, and professional integrity.
