Technical Officer

Job Overview

The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries is seeking a dedicated Technical Officer to support senior personnel in managing routine farm operations at both the Arid Zone Research Institute and the Old Man Plains Research Station located in Alice Springs. The role focuses primarily on the upkeep and administration of station facilities, grounds, livestock, crops, and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support senior team members in daily agricultural and farming tasks.
• Maintain and oversee the management of research station facilities and grounds.
• Provide care and monitoring for livestock and crops on site.
• Manage and conduct maintenance of essential farming and research equipment.

Additional Details

This position is based in Alice Springs within the Livestock Industries Development work unit. The role corresponds with Technical 2 experience level and reports to the Regional Director of Agriculture - Southern.

Compensation

The total remuneration package ranges from $80,313 to $90,562 inclusive of a base salary between $70,859 and $79,902 annually.
