Vice President, Research, Development & Technology

About the Role

EcoSynthetix Inc. is seeking a dynamic technology executive to join their leadership as Vice President of Research, Development & Technology in Burlington, Ontario. This position extends beyond conventional R&D functions, targeting a strategically commercial leader who can convert client needs into innovative and sustainable biomaterial products that promote both business growth and lasting customer value.

Primary Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement the company's innovation and technology strategies.
• Guide the commercialization efforts of EcoSphere®, SurfLock™, and Bioform™ technology platforms.
• Forge and nurture strategic customer and partner relationships to accelerate the uptake of renewable materials.
• Oversee product development from ideation to commercialization and scaling for manufacturing.
• Direct the intellectual property strategy, expanding and protecting the technology portfolio.
• Establish and cultivate a high-performing R&D and Technology team focused on client needs.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or a related field.
• At least 15 years in progressive leadership roles encompassing industrial R&D, product innovation, and technology commercialization.
• Demonstrated success in customer-driven innovation and bringing new technologies to market.
• Industry experience relevant to biomaterials, specialty chemicals, polymers, adhesives, coatings, paper, packaging, or renewable materials.
• Exceptional leadership capabilities, commercial insight, and communication skills.
