Warehouse Supervisor

Job Overview

Our client, a prominent packaging solutions provider based in Limerick, is actively seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to join their team. This role demands oversight of daily warehouse operations ensuring exemplary standards in safety, inventory accuracy, materials planning, distribution, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with company safety policies and legal standards to ensure a safe workplace.
• Promote and enforce the proper and secure use of warehouse machinery and equipment.
• Support scheduling activities for materials including planning, ordering, and managing deliveries efficiently.
• Supervise product handling procedures, proper storage, and detailed inventory documentation.
• Manage stock control and ensure inventory accuracy through systematic reconciliation with management software.
• Coordinate timely and effective distribution operations for incoming and outgoing goods.
• Provide operational support to related business functions such as production when needed.
• Develop and implement warehouse strategies focused on improving operational efficiency, optimizing storage, reducing waste, and minimizing slow-moving stock (SLOBs).
• Direct daily warehouse activities by setting clear priorities and operational goals for the team.
• Lead, motivate, and support warehouse staff to meet performance expectations.
• Identify training requirements and encourage professional development of team members.
• Ensure best practices align with corporate goals and operational standards.
• Assist the Warehouse Manager with various tasks, projects, and procedural improvements.
• Engage in Operational Excellence programs including 6S methodology, risk assessments, audits, and inspections on site.
• Communicate and collaborate with suppliers, transport services, and internal departments to ensure seamless warehouse operations.
• Perform any additional assigned duties as necessary.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a warehouse environment is mandatory.
• Previous supervisory experience is highly preferred.
• Proficient computer skills; familiarity with SAP software is beneficial.
• Excellent leadership capabilities coupled with strong organizational skills.
• Strong analytical mindset with numerical proficiency and problem-solving skills.
• Superb interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Able to communicate analyses and suggest improvements to broader organizational teams.
• Possession of a clean driving license.
• Holding a valid mechanical lifting equipment license is advantageous.
