Role overview
Benmax is looking for a Tradesperson (Welder) to join its Canberra team and contribute to fabrication work on major mechanical services projects. The role involves hands-on welding tasks, attention to quality and safety, and working alongside a supportive crew on practical, varied assignments.
What you will do
- Carry out welding and fabrication work while meeting required quality and safety expectations.
- Review technical drawings and job specifications to guide your work.
- Use a range of welding methods, including MIG, TIG, stick, and oxy/acetylene.
- Perform thermal cutting using tools such as plasma equipment and oxy/acetylene.
- Use welding machines and related equipment correctly, and keep them in good working order.
- Support apprentices by helping build their skills and practical knowledge.
What you need
- Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication) is mandatory.
- Proven hands-on welding experience.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- White Card, Silica Awareness, and Asbestos Awareness are required.
- Permanent work rights in Australia.
