Construction Estimator

Role overview

Jacobs is looking for a Construction Estimator to support contract-related estimating work in Poughkeepsie, New York. In this role, you will help ensure orders stay aligned with contract terms, coordinate across multiple stakeholders, and provide estimating support for construction-related work.

Key responsibilities

• Check orders against the contract to confirm compliance.
• Oversee all contract orders assigned to a specific geographic area.
• Prepare estimates and negotiate contract orders with contractors in line with contract requirements.
• Serve as the point of coordination between contractors, field teams, the client, executive leadership, and contract management when handling issues and complex matters.

Required background

• A bachelor’s degree in construction management or a closely related discipline is required.
• You should bring 4 years of experience in cost estimation, including preparing costs and reviewing architectural, mechanical, and electrical components of building projects.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential.
• Hands-on estimating experience across all areas of construction is needed.
