Data Analyst

Role overview

This position involves applying data analysis methods to inspect data systems, uncover relationships, and interpret what the data means for business and technical processes. The work also includes documenting findings in a clear and structured way.

Core focus areas

The role requires strong capability in at least two of the following areas: SQL usage, data governance and security practices, ELT/ETL strategy, evaluating and assessing data quality, and gathering data requirements through research and discovery.

Experience and education

Normally, candidates should have a degree along with 2 to 4 years of experience. Alternatively, applicants without a degree may qualify with 6 to 8 years of combined education and equivalent work experience, using the general guideline that 1 year of experience is treated as equivalent to 1 year of education.

Work style and reporting line

The role operates with limited supervision and is expected to handle assigned tasks or specific project sections independently in order to achieve the required outcomes. The position may also take the lead on small projects or research efforts with limited scope and complexity. The role typically reports to the Data Analyst Manager.
