Data Analyst

Position Overview

Technix LLC is seeking a Data Analyst for a 12-month position supporting the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). This role is based in Austin, Texas, with a hybrid work setup requiring three days remote work and two days onsite at 4601 W Guadalupe St, Austin, TX 78751. Please note, the onsite days are Monday and Thursday, and this schedule may be subject to change as per the hiring team's discretion.

This opportunity demands candidates who reside within a 50-mile radius of Austin, Texas. Applicants currently out of state or planning to relocate will not be considered. Interviews will be conducted either in person or virtually via Microsoft Teams.

Role Responsibilities

• Understand and analyze business goals and challenges to identify alternative technical solutions.
• Conduct comprehensive studies and cost-benefit evaluations of possible solutions.
• Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or enhance existing computer systems.
• Collaborate with various organizational units to understand operational procedures, data input/output needs, and reporting formats.
• Develop detailed documentation of user needs, program functionalities, and development steps for new or modified software.
• Evaluate system capabilities and constraints to verify feasibility of requested programming changes.
• Lead Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions to gather requirements and document business processes and analysis findings.
• Design and implement dashboards, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and performance metrics to facilitate data-driven decision making.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years in IT roles supporting technology solution design, development, or delivery.
• At least 8 years of experience with Integrated Eligibility systems including full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) involvement from requirements gathering through implementation.
• Proven expertise in business analysis and data analytics.
• Experience conducting JAD sessions, eliciting requirements, and documenting business process and data analysis results.
• Proficient in SQL with ability to write and execute complex queries including joins.
• Strong skills in data quality analysis.
• Experience in designing dashboards with effective measures and KPIs.
• Preferred: 4 or more years working with the Texas Integrated Eligibility Redesign System (TIERS).
